Average internet use about hrs a day taking lots of practice tests. Now that I know it works in Hardy, I can tell her to upgrade: After reinstalling the ndiswrapper package, it still kept telling me that I already had the drivers installed, but it still wouldn’t work. Surprise — now it works!

Is there anyway to make this card do WPA2 btw? When i enter the command it gives me this: I’m not at that machine at the minute. When installing ndiswrapper, the line should read: WEP works but isn’t much.
I am a complete Ubuntu Noob. Does this change my WPA options? Don’t think that’s doable. I initially have all necessary drivers and my wpc54g ver2 card works fine, but with no WPA access. See this post for instructions on how to remove previously loaded drivers: The problem is doing it dynamicly through some network manager. Done Initializing package states The ndiswrapper -l shows lsbcmnds and lstinds as installed. So, when I tried to load the new Linksys drivers from this tutorial, ndiswrapper responded by telling me that they were already installed.
Ciridan, i have several machines running this card according to this howto under wpc54y, so i’m not sure why it was not working for you. The cat5 connector comes out the side of the machine case.

Setting it to WEP will just work fine. After going through this entire sequence very carefully, with no luck, and more work and study, I finally learned that Kubuntu 7. I added the following steps to remove the old linmsys before installing the new drivers with sudo ndiswrapper -i The wireless card is recognized.

Networking will work perfectly fine without network-manager, but it may not be as easy so if you’re sincerely interested in making this card work, then by all means uninstall network-manager.
